I’m so excited to share with you the full room reveal of my youngest son, Beau’s, nursery!!

Although this room has since been turned in to the boys playroom (and they now share a room) I have so many beautiful memories of my time with Beau as a baby in here! I hope you love it as much as I do.

Ok, let’s start with the background of the room. We originally painted it completely grey for Masons nursery. I absolutely love this tone called Dieskau by Dulux – we used half strength.

At the time Beau was born we were living interstate and renting out our home in Perth. When we returned and it was time to design his nursery, I still loved the colour so much so that I decided to keep it. So to mix it up we painted the room half and half with white to lighten it up and add interest.

We already had the Polar Bear print from Little Quarters which set the colour palette for the rest of the room – navy, white, grey and black.  I wanted the room to be soft and relaxing yet still have some cool elements to suit his cheeky and loving personality.

I went with this beautiful geometric mobile and chose the colours to match back perfectly with the print. Although the colours are cute and soothing the geometric shapes add a bit of spunk to the cot area, making it a little less babyish.

His original cot was damaged on our move back to Perth so I decided to purchase a cheaper cot. I knew he’d be moving to a big boy bed sooner rather than later and we had no plans to have another baby any time soon! So I chose the sniglar cot by Ikea and jazzed it up by painting the bars white with a no VOC paint.

I love that this cot is raw wood so it has no nasty chemicals used in production. And I just love how it came up after adding the painted bars too!

For bedding I went with a plain white bamboo sheet, a simple navy and white pinstripe doona by Liewood and this super soft blanket from Noah and Bowie. The blanket matches the room perfectly and is still one of my fave purchases of all time – so soft!

The colour and texture of the rug brings some much needed warmth to the room against the other cool tones. The sheepskin adds some extra comfort and texture along with the leather pouffe.

This rocker from Adairs was super comfy and well priced and the wooden legs also added warmth as did the cute little side table from Homely Creatures. I love the triangle detail on the table which tied back in with the geometric shapes used in the mobile.

I looked for the right lamp for a long time but fell in love with this beauty from Freedom as soon as I saw it. I love the mid century modern design and knew it would go perfectly in our home somewhere else when Beau no longer needed it. I was right and it now sits in our lounge room! This is definitely something to keep in mind when making purchases for kids rooms, especially more expensive ones!

The cushion from Lumiere Art & Co brings in some navy to this vignette and the tie dye and fringing give it a little beachy boho feel which I love! I went with simple book ledges from Ikea and filled them with lots of gorgeous books and a few personal items.

The wooden rabbit was one of the first things I bought for his room when we found out we were pregnant and the clay heart was a decoration from our wedding. The Wild Heart banner from Zilvi was a perfect addition as it suits Beau to a tee and the cute little wooden mushies went so well with the rest of the room I just had to have them!

I’m a big fan of using chests of drawers instead of traditional change tables – once again to get the most out of your purchases. We went with the Ikea Hemnes drawers and swapped out the knobs for these super cool leather tabs from Interior Motives.

I love the texture that the bunting from Children of the Tribe added to the room and when Miann & Co and Pax & Hart got together and released the big softie Sailor, I just had to have him. Doesn’t he just look too cute sitting up there?!

The mirror is from Kmart and I love how it reflects the cot and bear print. Beau just LOVED to play with it when he was being changed.

The print from Louie Luxe was another must-have as Twinkle Twinkle was my go-to nursery rhyme for soothing my babes. Every time I hear it I still think of those long nights rocking, singing, patting and feeding. Oh how I miss them!! Except for the no sleeping part – defs don’t miss that!

So there it is, Beau’s nursery! See below for a full list of the items used and where to get them from.
